My name is Haven. I was born in 2019 under the last full moon of the decade—on Friday the 13th—so everyone says I’m a very lucky elephant. I am the first baby ever born at Samui Elephant Haven, and also the youngest member of the herd.
People like to say I’m mischievous and a little stubborn, but I don’t completely agree. I was fortunate enough to be born here, which means I never had to be tamed or trained like many other elephants. I’m free to grow up naturally, learning at my own pace and doing what young elephants do best, exploring, playing, and discovering the world around me.
I live here with my mum, Somboon, and my beloved nanny, Granny Srinin, who watches over me and keeps me in line when needed. I also have a close human friend who looks after me every day, making sure I’m safe while still letting me be a curious young elephant.
If you ever visit Samui Elephant Haven, feel free to stop by and say hello. I’m always happy to meet new friends—especially if they bring watermelon or bananas. Just remember to give me a little space, as I like to decide for myself when it’s time to come closer.
